Shannon is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and registered nurse with over 10 years of inpatient nursing experience in postpartum/newborn care, NICU, and pediatrics. She holds a master’s degree in Nursing Education, which she has put to use in various settings teaching patient families, nursing staff, and undergraduate nursing students. She is also a proud member of the New York Lactation Consultant Association.
In addition to her relevant experience as a nurse, she is a mother to two children, both of whom breastfed, and both of whom were not straightforward feeders!
Her experience as a new mom struggling to breastfeed, despite her years of professional training, led her to pursue practice as an IBCLC. In doing so, she is able to assist and advocate for families dealing with the countless challenges that accompany newborn feeding.
With patience, understanding, and an open mind, Shannon would be honored to guide and support you and your baby as you embark on your feeding journey, however that may look to you!
